What is Scrip?
Scrip fundraising is a no-selling program that enables families to raise money for their non-profit organization. Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards.
Here’s how it works: You purchase gift cards online for your favorite stores at face value. Laurelhurst PTA then orders those cards, collects your check, and hands you the cards. You receive the gift cards loaded with the full amount you paid, and Laurelhurst PTA receives a percentage of their value from the participating retailers. You are NOT donating money and you are NOT selling anything. The full value of your purchase is yours to keep and the Laurelhurst PTA (and our kids!) benefit.
Just by using scrip to pay for your normal weekly purchases, you can easily raise money for our school!
Our new scrip program offers over 300 of the country’s biggest brands including grocery stores, department stores, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, home improvement stores, and more through Great Lakes Scrip Center.
For a complete list of participating businesses, please go to http://www.shopwithscrip.com and click on “Retailer List” or “Retailer List by Category” (PDF file) at the bottom of the page.
We also offer PCC and Metropolitan Market cards through the Great Lakes Scrip Center website. The PCC scrip card is unique: Once you purchase a PCC card through the scrip website, you can add more funds to your card at the store anytime and the PTA will continue to receive 5% of your purchases.
How To Get Started
The first step is to create your free family account:
Now you’re in your family account. You can browse all the cards, create your favorites, add cards in your shopping cart, etc.
