To celebrate the start of Literacy Month, students are encourage to dress as their favorite book character on Monday, March 2nd. Be sure to check out the book recommendations from teachers and staff.
Parents are encouraged to attend the PTA board meeting on Monday, Feb 10, at 6:30 PM in the school library. Principal Snyder will lead a conversation and answer questions about preparing kids and parents for middle school.
Laurelhurst Elementary’s Hearts and Arrows All-School Family Dance is this Friday, doors opening at 6:30. Cost is $5 per person or $20 per family (pay at the door). Join us for fun tunes, dancing, glow toys, and concessions with your friends and neighbors!

The LES (Laurelhurst Elementary School) PTA Community Outreach Team is excited to welcome our kindergarten and other new families to our school! We will be scheduling three “get to know you” playdates. One playdate will be at Laurelhurst Park, one at Ravenna Park Playground, and one at University Heights Playground. Sept. 5-7 Family Connections
Kindergarten students: Before starting school, each new kindergartner’s family is offered the chance to meet with their student’s teacher to begin building a home-school partnership. So that teachers can meet with families, the kindergarten start date is postponed three days, to the Mon., Sept. 10, 2018.
If you need interpretation services, please request an interpreter when you are contacted for an appointment.
