Laurelhurst PTA September News

Welcome!

It’s been a busy and fun start to the school year! We’re excited to see so many new families and staff in the building. If you dropped by the Welcome Coffee on the first day of school, you hopefully met some of our enthusiastic volunteers and learned about the many great programs you can get involved with here at Laurelhurst. A big thanks to Kim Sahlin and Tiffany Jay for organizing. If you missed it, don’t worry! Watch for details in the Bear Bulletin on events and ways to connect, or see below for a PTA open house later this month.

Coming Up this Month…

General PTA Meeting and Parent University, Sept. 17th

Join us for our first General PTA meeting of the year on September 17th at 6:30. We’ll do a quick overview of what’s new, then introduce Principal Sarah Talbot who’ll start off Parent University! This was a great night last year with lots of pearls of wisdom from our savvy teachers on ways you can help your children succeed at school.  You’re guaranteed to come away smarter!

Fall Grounds Clean-up Day, Sept. 20th

Join us on Saturday, September 20th from 8-11 for our Fall grounds clean-up party! Bring gloves and tools if you have them, we’ll have the coffee and donuts. The more the merrier – bring the whole family.

PTA Open House/Tea with Talbot in the Library, Sept. 25th

Another chance to ask questions, put “faces with names” and learn a little more about the fun ways you can get involved. Thursday, Sept. 25th, 9:40am in the library.

Thank you!

We are grateful for this involved and caring community who make a difference here at Laurelhurst Elementary in so many ways. Like every year, there are changes, and there are some things that remain the same – your steadfast support of our students, teachers and school is one of those.

Warmly,

Amy Barss and Linda Chou
